Precious Del Rosario

12 Apr 2021

Whenever I met new friends that are Christian, they always asked me, "when did you became a Christian?" and I don't know what to answer since I was born and raised in a Christian family. My parents are both ministers. So many people joked and say that I am a christian since birth, but it was after high school that I really understand what Jesus has done on the cross to save us from sins. When you're a Pastor's Kid it is inevitable that you are already have a part in the ministry. I remember when I was a kid every saturday we went to church to fix the chairs and set up. During weekdays whenever I am not busy with school I am with my parents during Bible studies. So it is not impossible that I don't know anything about Jesus Christ because it has been part of our lives but the reality is, I don’t have that personal relationship with Him.

It was until college, where I am out of my comfort zone that I started to trust in His ways and in His words. God never leave me nor forsake me. He lead me to a church in the city where He knows that I can cultivate my relationship with Him and where I can be used for His glory. I started as listener and attendee of that church until I became the co-teacher of Sunday School Kids and youth officer, I had mentors one of them is now a missionary in Albania. I have this verse where I have during my camp year 2014 it says, But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well (Matthew 6:33). I am keeping this God's promise in my heart and indeed God answered my prayers. It is really important to seek God first and establish your relationship woth Him before anything else.

I am having my review for Board exam when this pandemic happened, that’s when I decided to go back here in Abra. And after GCQ was lifted, I saw the kids in the church and thought that is good to have their Sunday School too. Because only in San Antonio, our outreach program, has sunday school so I did not experience growing having sunday school when I was a kid. Only when I go to San Antonion that I experience Sunday Schools.

We started with only five members but now there are eleven kids sometimes thirteen and praying it continues to grow. For as the Bible said that these kids belong to Jesus. It is sad that we can't gather sometimes because of the pandemic.

Our Board Exam on May is cancelled because of this pandemic but I will continue to trust in Him and have faith in Him for He says in His words that He knows what He plans for me. And I will still glorify and praise His name during this time because His thoughts arer higher than my thoughts. God name be glorified. God Bless!
